F-16C Falcon History:

Lockheed Martin F-16C Fighting Falcon is a single-seat, air-combat and multi-role fighter jet with speed up to 1500 mph. It is extremely maneuverable and has proven itself in air-to-air combat and air-to-air-surface attack. It provides a relatively low-cost yet high performance weapon system for the United States and allied nations.

The F-16 was built under an odd agreement creating a group between the U.S and four NATO countries: Norway, Belgium, Denmark and the Netherlands and recently Portugal joined the group. Together these countries produced with the U.S an initial 348 F-16s for their Air Force. The Final airframe assemble lines were to be found in Belgium and the Netherlands. The long-term benefits of this program will be technology transfer among the nations producing the F-16, and a common-use aircraft for NATO nations.
