This Grumman G 159 Gulfstream Airplane Model comes with a customized detachable stand, a personalized inscriptions plaque and a laminated customer’s Company Logo Volo Aviation that adds magnificence into this detailed Display Model. Grumman Gulfstream I History : Development of the Gulfstream I was done by Grumman. The aircraft was a twin engine Turboprop designed to replace so many of the piston engine aircraft from the 1950's that had been performing troop and cargo missions for the U.S. Military and the corporate sector. The first flight was accomplished on August 14th 1958. Following Certification by the FAA on May 21, 1959 deliveries began. This was the first commercial aircraft the FAA had certified to fly at 30,000 Feet. The Grumman Gulfstream I was delivered with two Rolls-Royce Dart turboprops that gave the aircraft pretty good high speed cruise. The aircraft also incorporated an Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) giving it the capability to operate at remote air fields. The design work started in 1956 and the first flight occurred on August 14, 1958. The aircraft was primarily designed as a corporate aircraft quite a few of the aircraft found service in the commercial market. Seating was as many as 24 passengers. Gulfstream American Corporation purchased the rights to the aircraft in 1979. Gulfstream stretched the cabin by 10 feet, 8 inches which allowed seating up to 38 passengers three abreast. The aircraft became known as the G-159C Gulfstream IC however only five aircraft were converted. |
