Bombardier Learjet 45 History:

Looking for a medium sized Business Aircraft Bombardier/Lear designed the new Learjet 45. Announcement came during the NBAA in Dallas during 1992. The first flight occurred on October 7, 1997 with the first delivery in January 1998. Learjet in the past had stayed mostly with a conventional design. However with the Learjet 45 a number of key designs were introduced. These included a larger fin and rudder, larger engine pylons, smaller delta fins, full span elevators, and single piece flaps.

Designed to have a cabin with the look and feel of a larger aircraft Learjet. The cabin was designed for double club seating with a galley and full rest room. The flight deck is also designed to have the feel of a larger with a 4 screen Honeywell Primus 1000 Integrated Avionics Suite. The aircraft also has an APU as standard equipment. Two FADEC controlled Allied Signal TFE731 Turbo Fan Engines power the aircraft to fly with the big boys.
