Mooney M20TN 2008 Acclaim History :

The Mooney Airplane Company, founded by Al Mooney, design the now infamous Mooney line of aircraft starting in the 1950’s, Since then several different models have come down the production line. The Mooney’s are consider by most as high performance, piston-powered, propeller-driven general aviation aircraft, all featuring a low-wing and tricycle gear. The most successful was the "M20" designed by Al himself. Over the last 50 years many variants have been produced from the wooden M20 and M20A that were produced in the 1950’s, to the M20TN Acclaim that saw it’s first flight in 2008 and remains in production today. The Mooney M20 series was manufactured in three fuselage lengths. The short, medium and long body versions. The only series that remain in production are the long bodies. The long bodies are a true four seat aircraft with plenty of leg room resulting in only a slight decrease in performance. Improvements over the years have more than made up for the performance loss. All the Mooney are recognizable by the reversed vertical stabilizer.
