Piper PA-31 Navajo History:

The Piper PA-31-325 Navajo is a twin engine, six to eight seat cabin class aircraft. The aircraft has been used in many roles from commuter, charter, air taxi, light freight and executive transport. The Navajo came into production at the request of the Piper Company’s C.E.O. William Piper for a new larger twin. Originally the name given to the project was Inca. The first flight occurred on September 30, 1964.

In 1971 Piper decided to make improvements to The Piper PA-31-325 Navajo. Those improvements included counter rotating 242kW (325hp) TIO-540-F engines. The aircraft remained in production until 1984, however, Piper stopped developing the aircraft and produced the Chieftain, Mojave and Cheyenne.
