Cirrus SR22 GTS History :

The Cirrus Design Company started in the aircraft business with the popular Cirrus SR20. After the SR 20 the SR22 followed as a very high-performance single-engine, four-seat, composite aircraft. With its 310 horsepower engine it became very popular among new pilots and first time buyers. It has become the world’s most popular single engine four place aircraft in the world competing with the Cessna 400. The Cirrus line of aircraft is best known for its Aircraft Parachute System. The system allows deployment of a large parachute that will lower the aircraft to the ground in the event of a non-recovery emergency.

In 2007 Cirrus introduced the third generation of the SR22 with the SR22 G3. The aircraft had many design changes over the SR22. The most notable changes were the improvements made to the anti-ice system and a higher landing gear giving the aircraft 2 inches more ground clearance. The SR22 G3 also incorporates the Avidyne Entegra primary flight display cockpit.
