Piper PA-28 Cherokee Model Airplane
TestimonialMike, I must say I was quite surprised by the gift my wife Jane gave to me this Christmas! The model’s attention to detail and quality craftsmanship is phenomenal! I guess she saw your booth while we attended AOPA’s convention in Tampa this year, and she was very clever in keeping me “out” of the loop. I just wanted to say, the model of our airplane, N56149 is EXACTLY as the plane exists. Your company’s detail and quality and from what Jane tells me, your service, is refreshing in today’s “just get by” environment. We will keep the model in a very special place and will recommend your company to any and all! Regards, Miles Dee This Custom Made Piper PA-28 Cherokee Wooden Model Airplane was hand crafted using the finest Philippine Mahogany available and sealed to last for generations. Piper PA-28 Cherokee History : Piper started looking for a design to replace the ageing Tri-Pacer and the Colt. The design team turned to the PA-28-150 and PA-28-160 Cherokees. Introduction came in 1961. The new PA-22 series sported a low wing design and was an all metal construction. The prototypes Cherokee were powered by a 160 hp engine, production aircraft offered a choice of two engines, the 160 hp and the 150 hp engine. Deliveries started in early 1961. In 1962 a 180 hp engine was offered. Piper produced several variants of the Cherokee family by installing different engines ranging from 140 to 300 hp. Some engines even had turbo charging. The Cherokee Family also offered the aircraft with a fixed landing gear or a retractable landing gear, a constant speed propeller or a fixed pitched propeller. Piper even offered the Cherokee with a stretched Cabin to carry up to Six passengers. The aircraft continues in production today with The New Piper Aircraft Company as the Saratoga. |
