Stinson 108 Voyager History:

The Stinson 108 was a derivative of the prewar Model 10A produced by Consolidated Vaultee.It became a popular following WW II. The aircraft was produced by Stinson who at the time was a division of Consolidated Vaultee. Production lasted until 1950 when the line was dropped. Stinson was finally purchased by Piper Aircraft and production continued for a short period of time. Not many aircraft were produced by Piper.

The Stinson 108 was a steel tube fuselage with a fabric covering. There were several aftermarket modifiers that gained Special Type Certificates (STC) to cover the aircraft in aluminum skin and many different engine types were installed such as the Lycoming )-360 and the Franklin 220. Even the Lycoming 0-470 received a STC to increase the aircrafts performance. A unique feature was the partial leading edge slot on the wings that aligned with the ailerons on the trailing edge. This gave the aircraft very docile stall behavior.
