Beechcraft King Air 350 & 350i History

The Beechcraft King Air 350 and King Air 350i are twin-turboprop aircraft manufactured by Beechcraft. Wanting to create a replacement for the King Air 300 in 1988, Beechcraft took the original Model 300?s fuselage and stretched it by three feet, added two additional windows on both sides of the aircraft, and added winglets to the wingtips creating the Model B300. This upgraded variant?s MTOW (Maximum Take-off Weight) was increased to 15,000 pounds. The Model B300 was introduced in 1990 and was initially marketed as the Super King Air 350. Beechcraft dropped the ?Super? in 1996 and started marketing the Model B300 as the King Air 350. In October 2008, Beechcraft announced an updated version of the Model B300 with improvements to the passenger cabin that greatly reduced noise levels and increased the overall comfort of the passengers. Controllers were added to the passenger seat armrest that dim the LED lights, darken the windows, and controls an iPod Dock and a high-definition video monitor. This improved and upgraded version was designated as the King Air 350i. With all of these improvements and modifications the King Air 350i was now competitive with light corporate and business jets. Deliveries of the King Air 350i started in December 2009. The King Air 350 can cruise at 333 miles per hour for a distance of 2,075 miles and accommodate a crew of two and thirteen passengers.
