Bell 429 GlobalRanger Helicopter History:

The Bell 429 GlobalRanger helicopter is a light, twin-engine helicopter designed by Bell Helicopter and Korea Aerospace Industries. It was based on the Bell 427 helicopter. The Bell 429 was developed primarily for the emergency medical services which had been looking for an upgraded and updated helicopter. Bell used its Modular Affordable Product Line (MAPL) concept airframe that was still in conceptual development at the time. The 429 uses the all-new modular airframe concept and the advanced rotor blade design from the MAPL program, but maintains a derivative engine and rotor drive system from the Bell 427. By February 2006, Bell had flown most of the critical MAPL technology components using a Bell 427 test bed aircraft. The first completed Bell 429 GlobalRanger helicopter flew its maiden flight on 27 February 2007. Certification was delayed due to parts and material shortages which delayed the testing program. FAA Type Certification was finally received on 7 July 2009 and the first customer aircraft was delivered on that same day. The Bell 429 is capable of single-pilot IFR and Runway Category ?A? operations. It can cruise at 172 miles per hour for a distance of 449 miles and can accommodate the pilot plus seven passengers.

Just arrived. I have to say, you guess knocked out out of the park again. A fantastic job especially considering the lack of documentation for such custom work. This truly will be a cherished trophy when presented to an icon of model aircraft precision acrobatics Mr. Ron Chidgey. Best regards, Mark Hunt
