Cirrus SR22 History

The Cirrus SR22 is a single-engine, four seat composite aircraft manufactured by Cirrus Aircraft since 2001. Basically the SR22 is a more powerful variant of the SR20, with a larger wing, higher fuel capacity, and a 310 horsepower engine. It has been very popular with buyers of new aircraft and has been the world?s best-selling single-engine, four seat aircraft for several years. Unlike most aircraft in its class, the SR22 has fixed or non-retractable landing gear. The SR22 can cruise at 211 miles per hour for a range of up to 1,207 miles and accommodates a pilot and three passengers. In 2013 Cirrus introduced the upgraded variant designated as the SR22 G5 (generation 5) with an increase of the gross weight to 3,600 pounds and a standard five seat cabin configuration. The Cirrus SR22 is probably best known as being equipped with the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS), an emergency parachute capable of lowering the entire aircraft and its occupants to the ground in an emergency.

Testimonials

Mike,

I must say I was quite surprised by the gift my wife Jane gave to me this Christmas! The model's attention to detail and quality craftsmanship is phenomenal! I guess she saw your booth while we attended AOPA's convention in Tampa this year, and she was very clever in keeping me 'out' of the loop. I just wanted to say, the model of our airplane, N56149 is EXACTLY as the plane exists. Your company's detail and quality and from what Jane tells me, your service, is refreshing in today's 'just get by' environment. We will keep the model in a very special place and will recommend your company to any and all!

Dear Maricar,

yesterday I have finally received my beautiful model. I am in total awe about the workmanship. This miniature of my airplane now graces my workdesk and reminds me every day why I am working so hard.

Thank you very much again for your great support. I will recommend you to all my flying buddies of German Historic Flight (http://www.german-historic-flight.de), a group of people who own and operate historic and or rare aircraft. I guess the potential for quite a few models will be there!

Best regards,
