Hawker Beechcraft 400A History

The Hawker Beechcraft 400 corporate jet aircraft is a small low-winged twin-turbofan corporate jet aircraft was initially designed and built by Mitsubishi and named the MU-300 Diamond. Its wings used a computer designed supercritical airfoil in order to reduce drag. The first flight of this aircraft was on 29 August, 1978. Beechcraft purchased the production rights for the MU-300 Diamond and started manufacturing it as the Beechjet 400. The Beechjet 400 was FAA certified in May 1986. It was further developed by Beech Aircraft Company and in 1990 they introduced the 400A variant which had a longer range, higher take-off weights, and improved luxury appointments. Beechcraft also offered an all glass flight deck for the 400A. In August 1993 Raytheon, who owned Beechcraft, bought the Hawker business jet product line from British Aerospace and then re-designated the Beechjet 400 as the Hawker 400. A military version was produced for the United States Air Force between 1992 and 1997 and was designated as the T-1A Jayhawk. The Hawker 400A can fly at 510 miles per hour for a distance of up to 1,949 miles and can accommodate a crew of two and nine passengers.

Testimonials

Elmer, I just want to thank you for your hard work and efforts. I got the model yesterday and it looks great! Thanks again for all you and your staff did. George Luaces Jr. Chief Pilot Cheney Brothers, Inc.

I want to send you a note of gratitude and thanks for such an outstanding job on the Cessna 177 I ordered for my father-in-law. Not only was it a beautiful model, but he absolutely loved it! My wife and I caught him just starring at it a couple of times. The detail was very good and the colors were perfect.

I did notice the shipment was from Angeles City; in 1988 or '89, I was in Angeles City and purchased an Army UH-60, and an Army C-12 with specific colors and numbers. The quality was not nearly as good as the Cessna.

Thank you very much for the Cessna, and have a happy New Year.
