Hawker Beechcraft 400XP History

The Hawker Beechcraft 400XP is an upgraded variant of the 400A light corporate jet aircraft. This 400XP variant incorporates further aerodynamic, mechanical, and interior improvements taken from the Hawker 800XP. This small low-winged twin-turbofan corporate jet aircraft was initially designed and built by Mitsubishi and named the MU-300 Diamond. The first flight of this aircraft was on 29 August, 1978. Beechcraft purchased the production rights for the MU-300 Diamond and started manufacturing it as the Beechjet 400. The Beechjet 400 was FAA certified in May 1986. In August 1993 Raytheon, who owned Beechcraft, bought the Hawker business jet product line from British Aerospace and then re-designated the Beechjet 400 as the Hawker 400. While the 400XP is basically the same airframe as the 400A, the 400XP only has five windows on each side of the aircraft as compared to the six windows on the 400A. This aircraft can cruise at 510 miles per hour for a range of up to 1950 miles. It can accommodate a crew of two and up to nine passengers.

Testimonials

Maricar,

Congratulations to the production team on another beautiful effort. It seems that each model that you produce for me is even better than the previous one, although I know that your production standards are consistently the highest possible. The level of detail and quality of finish is fantastic! "Nellie" will make an excellent "companion" to another model I have received from you, the equally attractive Piaggio Avanti II. Bravo!

Salamat,
Richard Albert

Dear Factory Direct Models:

We have received our Commander 114-B model and were completely blown away by the attention to detail. Every aspect of our plane has been duplicated perfectly. Everyone who has an aircraft should commission a model from your company.
