Quest Kodiak History:

The Quest Kodiak is a high-wing, unpressurized, single-engine turboprop powered, fixed-tricycle-gear aircraft built by Quest Aircraft. Engineering started on the Kodiak in 1999 while the company organization was being finalized. Quest wanted to build a high performance utility aircraft capable of operating on unimproved and short airfields while carrying 10 passengers and cargo. This was accomplished by utilizing a fixed, discontinuous leading edge on the outboard wings and using the high-performance Pratt and Whitney Canada PT6A-34 turboprop engine with the Hartzell four-blade, full-feathering, reversible propeller. This aircraft has an amazing gross takeoff weight of 7,255 pounds and it offers superior STOL performance on any type of airfield. The Kodiak first flew on 16 October 2004 and received FAA Certification on 31 May 2007. It has been certified to fly into known icing conditions and is also certified to be equipped with Wipline 7000 Amphibious Floats. Passengers enter the aircraft through an aft clamshell door with automatic extending and retracting steps. The seats are tract mounted and are easily removed to accommodate cargo and other equipment. It has standard access doors for the pilot and co-pilot positions. This aircraft can cruise at 206 miles per hour and has a range of up to 1,032 miles. The first delivery of the Quest Kodiak was to launch customer Spirit Air in January 2008. Even though the Kodiak is considered a utility aircraft, Quest offered an interior upgrade called the ?Summit Package? with club seating in 2009.
