Robinson R22 Helicopter History

The Robinson R22 helicopter is a single reciprocating-engine, two-seat, light utility helicopter manufactured by Robinson Helicopter since 1979. This helicopter is used throughout the world in many different applications, ranging from flight training to livestock mustering on large cattle ranches in North America and cattle stations in Australia to patrolling pipelines that require dependability, low operating costs, and performance. Unlike heavier or larger helicopters with hydraulic assisted flight controls, the R22 has a very low inertia rotor system and the flight control inputs are operated directly by push rods. This makes the R22?s flight controls very sensitive and requires a very light touch to avoid overcorrecting. Most pilots certified to fly the R22 would normally not have a problem transitioning to a heavier helicopter. One of the most unique features of the R22 is the teetering ?T-Bar? control connected to a stick emerging from the center console between the two seats. This makes it easier for the pilot and passenger to enter and exit the aircraft and greatly reduces the chance of injury during a hard landing. The Robinson R22 can cruise at 110 miles per hour for a range of 240 miles.

Mike!

I wanted to email you and let you know what a raving success this model was! My husband was speechless! He could not believe how accurate your model was. He stared at it constantly and keep pointing out different aspects of the plane that you got "bang on".

Needless to say we will be ordering all of our planes through you! Thank you so much!

Dear Mike;

Sorry to be so late in sending this. I just wanted you and the folks at your company to know that we are so totally impressed with our models of our Lear 24-D. I ordered two, one for me and one for my former chief pilot and friend. The colors were so different we never thought you could come very close to reproduce them, but you duplicated them.

Right now I'm looking for pics of a couple other aircraft of my past. When I find them, I will be contacting you.

It says tons for your company, having not only to deal with the public, but most of them be "nitt-picky pilots" like myself and have so many positive comments and testimonials. You fellows do a rare thing. You sell a quality product at a fair price.

Thank you so much. We are so very much pleased with our models. You may consider this an open letter.
