Jabiru J340 History:

The Jabiru J-230 (2 seats) and the Jabiru J-430 (4 seats) aircraft have been developed as touring aircraft. They have a wide cockpit, high cabin and ample leg room. The Jabiru J-230 has a big baggage compartment in the back whereas the Jabiru J-430 has 2 rear seats. The longer tail boom results in more elevator and empennage authority (power of the elevator), reducing the stall speed to 45 kts and increasing directional stability. The J-430 was developed as a great alternative to GA aircraft such as the Cessna 172. The Jabiru J-230/430 cruise at 138 mph on 6 gph.
