Piper PA-32 Lance History :

The Piper PA-32 Lance series was born from the design of the Cherokee Six, However it is a significantly modified six seat development of the PA-28 Cherokee series. Two of the major differents were in engine selection, the Lance was manufactured with a Continental IO-540 or the normally aspirated O-540. It also had a larger fuselage to comforally seat 6, a stronger landing gear and a larger tail. The aircraft first flew on December 6, 1993 with deliveries beginning in the mid 1965. Production ended in 1979.

Several variences were produced. The more sufficient were the Lance II with a retractable landing gear and a turbocharged engine and a new "T" Tail. The Saratoga replaced both the Cherokee Six and the Lance Air.
