Cessna 172 Skyhawk History The Cessna 172 Skyhawk is a single-engine, four-seat, fix-wing aircraft and was powered by the six cylinder Continental O-300, before this engine was replaced by the four cylinder Lycoming O-320. First flight of the Cessna 172 Skyhawk was in November 1955. The Cessna 172 Skyhawk became sudden success and over 1400 were built in 1956. With more than 43,000 delivered it has been proven that Cessna Skyhawk is the best-selling and most flown airplane ever. |
