USS Arizona (BB-39) Military Ship History

The USS Arizona (BB-39) was named particularly in admiration of the 48th state, the Arizona. It was categorized of the United States Navy as a Pennsylvania class battleship. On December 1941, during the Japanese assault in Pearl Harbor the vessel was the well-known from the devastating and remarkable sinking ship that lost for about 1,177 lives. The ship was still lie on the ground of the harbor and the site was turned into a memorial to those who died that day.
